Don’t forget to breathe.

I have this cool picture of my child and this saying below it. “just breathe, this is the last time you will ever be this old”.

All sports, religions, mental and emotional guru’s emphasis breathing. I have a saying I picked up somewhere. “There must be a God to hard-wire breathing into us. Otherwise we’d forget and be dead in the first 5 minutes.”

The amount of people I have taught to ‘deep breathe’ at work astounds me. It’s like this; when you breathe IN, your stomach is supposed to go OUT. So many people have it reversed, or they expand just their ribs to breathe.

What is the most important thing to stay alive? We can go for around 5 min with out air, 5 days with out water and people have gone 30 days with out food.

This article got started from a friend at a breath course. Their teacher said we just breathe, in and out all day, taking for granted the mind blowing event that is taking place. That being somehow air and just the right amount goes from the outside of you to the inside of you. While the spent air is doing the opposite. All automatically and for most of us perfectly.

Take a moment each day and take a slow deep breath. I have read anxiety is excitement without adequate breathing. Give it a try.

If you need some help on breathing techniques come on by the office, it only takes a minute.
