Speed is a relative term in sailing. With the new America cup boats going 20-40 knots (sailing jargon for real slow compared to a car) we are able to go as fast as a kid on a peddle bike. The average sailing boat is going 5-10 mph. So a quick walk to a so so jog.
I so often see people at the clinic who have been going ‘full throttle’ for a very long time and pop into the clinic and wonder if I can do a pit stop at the speed of an Indy car.
Our bodies for thousands of years where going at sailboat speeds, now for the last 70 years they have sped up to race car speeds. I was just at a party and for the first time in my life I was talking to a person who was texting, eating and ‘talking’ to me all at once. I know for most of you that’s a daily thing, but for me it’s a future patient.
I see a lot of people who’s gas tanks are empty and empty is not a good way of saying it. If gas where in stones they have ground the last one up for the last drop of gas they could get from it and now it’s all just dust.
Take a little slow time. Your body can handle a massive amount of abuse and recover, but it still must recover and that takes some slow time. Ow and Acupuncture helps too.
If you put frogs into a room temperature pot of water and slowly turn up the heat they will stay in there and die. Don’t be a frog.
